Peter was an engineer in the Royal Navy before leaving in 1993 to pursue a second career in social work. An increasing dissatisfaction with his ability to work compassionately and effectively within the statutory sector (local authorities and the NHS) resulted in his training as a psychotherapist in 2002.
Qualifying and securing registration with United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy in 2006, he continued to work in the statutory sector until 2014, but now works exclusively from his private practice in Gosport. This breadth of experience and knowledge ensures that he is able to provide effective therapeutic interventions to adults experiencing emotional distress (aged 18 upwards), and advise you regarding any past, present or possible future complicating factors you may be encountering should there be/has been contact with statutory services.
Many past clients will attest to the efficacy of his interventions and compassionate support. Over 20 years experience of providing such service maximizes the likelihood that he is able to provide a way forward regarding the matters causing you distress. He also has experience in the provision of training, group work, Employee Assistance Programmes and working with couples.
Peter has Master's degrees from both Southampton and Sheffield Universities. and is registered with UKCP. This is your assurance that his work is ethical and confidential, and required quality standards are achieved and maintained. Further details regarding UKCP can be found via the link on the home page.
